Sixth Form students at St Clare’s are celebrating the school’s track record for outstanding results at A-Level, having achieved 35% A*/A grades with 100% of students securing their first-choice university and a <b>100% pass rate<b> yet again, particularly impressive for the non-selective independent school. Students are leaving St Clare’s to embark upon exciting futures at the top universities, with the majority in the Russell Group.
St Clare’s has been in the top 5% of top performing A-Level schools in the UK since 2018 and anticipates this to be the same this year. The 2024 A-Level grades build on the excellent results seen in previous years with St Clare’s achieving a clean sweep of 100% pass rate across all subjects, highlighting the school’s strength in both academic and creative fields.
We are delighted with their performance, and they should be very proud of what they have accomplished. Here are just a few student case studies:
Head of Student Council, Lucia Quantick, joined St Clare’s in Year 4. “The reason I decided to stay on for Sixth Form was because I had a great GCSE experience and had already created solid friendships going forward so I thought it would be a good idea to do my A-Levels here.” Lucia studied Chemistry, Biology and Physics at A-Level and has accepted a place at The University of Edinburgh to study Medicine.
Head of Charities, Megan Lewis, joined St Clare’s in Year 10. “I opted to stay on for Sixth Form because of the St Clare’s community and the consistent support from all the teachers.” Meg studied Spanish, Maths and Biology at A-Level and has accepted a place at University of Exeter to read Biological Sciences with Spanish.
Prefect, Susan Liu, joined St Clare’s Sixth Form from a local comprehensive because she was looking for smaller class sizes and more personalised learning. Susan studied Maths, Chemistry and History and has accepted a place at Cardiff University to read Law.
Head Student, Ubaid Ashraf has been at St Clare’s since Nursery. “The reason I chose to continue my academic journey here is purely down to the family-friendly feel you get alongside the extra support that the teachers can provide.” Ubaid studied Physics, Maths and Computer Science at A-Level and has an unconditional offer from Cardiff University to read Financial Mathematics, but is still exploring exciting apprenticeship opportunities.
We see very bright futures ahead and hope our class of ‘24 look back on their time at St Clare’s with fond memories.
Headteacher, Helen Hier, said,
“It was lovely to see our students so happy today and excited for their future. We are so proud of this year group and the journey they have been on. They have truly lived out our school values of Achievement, Challenge and Excellence.
The cohort have been incredibly successful and have all been able to take the next step into their chosen university or a gap year. Their success is testament to the close-knit community here at St Clare’s with dedicated students and hard-working staff. It is such a pleasure to celebrate with them all today. St Clare’s will remain part of their family, forever their school and we will be on hand to support them when needed.”
