A-Level Results 2024

A track record for outstanding results.

In August 2024, Sixth Form students at St Clare’s Porthcawl celebrated the school’s track record for outstanding results at A-Level.

Students achieved a brilliant 35% A*/A grades and 100% of students secured their first choice university, with the majority in the Russell Group.

St Clare’s has been in the top 5% of top performing A-Level schools in the UK for ALPS (A-Level Performance System) since 2018.

The 2024 A-Level grades build on the excellent results seen in previous years with St Clare’s achieving a clean sweep of 100% pass rate across all subjects, highlighting the school’s strength in both academic and creative fields.

Students are leaving St Clare’s to embark upon exciting futures at the best universities such as the Russell Group or to start competitive industry apprenticeships.

STEM success to read Medicine.

Lucia Q studied the notoriously tough STEM subjects, Chemistry, Biology and Physics at A-Level and has accepted a place at her first-choice The University of Edinburgh to study Medicine.

Brilliant start to Biological Sciences with Spanish

Megan L, joined St Clare’s in Year 10 from a Welsh-medium school. Meg studied Spanish, Maths and Biology at A-Level and has accepted a place at University of Exeter to read Biological Sciences with Spanish.

Susan L, joined St Clare’s Sixth Form from a local comprehensive because she was looking for smaller class sizes and more personalised learning. Susan studied Maths, Chemistry and History and has accepted a place at Cardiff University to read Law.

Ubaid A has been at St Clare’s since Nursery. He studied Physics, Maths and Computer Science at A-Level and despite an unconditional offer from his first-choice Cardiff University he has just accepted a place on KPMG's prestigious Audit Apprenticeship Programme.
