At St Clare’s School, we endeavour to educate the whole individual.
We want to ensure that when our students leave us they are ready for their first university, apprenticeship or job interview, and have the confidence, resilience and strength of character beyond Sixth Form.
Our aim is to send young people out into the world as responsible, balanced young citizens.

ENRICHMENT
Helping them achieve their true potential.
From regular House competitions to the Enrichment Programme, Sixth Form students have plenty of opportunity to develop beyond the academic and are encouraged to pursue leadership roles (Head Boy, Head Girl and Prefect) as well as extra-curricular interests.
Further opportunities to debate, partake in drama and music events, join sports teams and support the local community, all grow young people's confidence, skillsets and personal achievement. Our aim is to make every one of our students stand out in their university and job applications.
Timetables at Sixth Form are populated with lectures, enrichment sessions, future-ready and self-development programmes, as well as individual research and study time.
UNIVERSITY PREPARATION
Stand out UCAS Applications.
We have a well-established system to equip our Sixth Formers for university via the UCAS process.
Our Sixth Form team have received very positive feedback on their quality of references for our student university applications.
We pride ourselves on our ability to tailor-make references that suit each individual for their chosen pathway.
Expertise in University preparation.
Our highly qualified Sixth Form team are able to guide students throughout the university application process (UCAS), and provide additional mentoring for Oxbridge and Russell Group candidates.
Mock interviews give students the opportunity to practise their communication skills, testing their subject-specific understanding and personal statements.
In subject-specific interviews, students complete a range of tasks designed to test their suitability for higher education, whilst personal statement interviews test students’ passion for their subject and knowledge beyond the A-Level syllabus. Sixth Formers then discuss how the interview went and receive helpful feedback and advice on the next steps to take.
Wednesday Webinars.
We are delighted to introduce you to our Wednesday Webinars which are produced exclusively for Cognita students and their families. They should be of interest to all students in their final years of school (Year 10 to Year 13).
You can get access to the best universities worldwide as each week a leading university talks you through the opportunities on offer and gives advice on how to make a successful application.
Each Wednesday Webinar includes a question and answer session for you to ask anything you need and get immediate answers.
CAREERS ADVICE
Bespoke guidance and support.
At St Clare's, we help to inform our students about their career and apprenticeship options, and help them make the right choices for their futures.
We cater for advice on careers and apprenticeships as part of our Enrichment Programme.
Our staff have a long-standing history of providing references for alumni moving into the world of work.
